Decision Makers
Measures the percentage of decision makers who can access water data and use this data to inform their decisions.

Getting data to report on this impact measure is a work in progress. This shared measurement system belongs to all members of the Our Living Water Network, so if you have any data or ideas to share with us on this measure, please send us an email at [email protected].

Overview

As a freshwater community, we want to support decision makers in using good quality evidence when making decisions that could affect the health of our waters. Importantly, this also means that decision makers are able to access and apply Indigenous and local water knowledge when making those decisions.

In order to support decision-makers in using and applying robust water knowledge, we first need to understand how many decision makers currently have access to the water data they need and how they use this data. Once we have a good idea of this, the freshwater community can work to fill gaps by collectively providing better data where needed and developing strategies to ensure it is being communicated and used to inform decisions.

5-Year target: To establish a process for, and identify, an initial benchmark for this impact measure.
